no. really. kick me out.

Jack and I went to see Grams this morning.
Jack and I went to lunch at Iguana with our beloved Hannah.
While waiting for our table, Jack yelled "KICK ME OUT!" over and over and over.
Jack threw beans and rice everywhere, proudly and with enthusiasm.
Jack kicked the table and shoved it into Hannah- over and over and over.
Jack yelled at a guy sitting near us, telling him that he was going to pinch him.
Jack told Hannah the guy behind us was going to pay for lunch.
Jack threw a tantrum and I recorded it on video and played it back for him.
He did not appreciate it.
Finally got out of the restaurant.  (everyone probably cheered.)
Jack found the one spot of mud on the ground and dug his fingers into it.
I picked him up and he spit on me.
Buckled him in his seat and he fell asleep in 5 minutes.
It's really hard sometimes but could be harder.

Oh.  There we go.
My favorite shirt, already covered in spit and queso, just tore.
There's good news too though.
BFF Dave called and we're going to have a drink this evening.
HURRAY!

You will be happy to know-  I think the gross water thing works.  I've been drinking it for 4 days now and I seem to be much less puffy.  Or maybe this is all in my mind.  No idea.  I'm a girl.  I'm delusional.

Jack is very serious about driving the grocery cart truck around homeland.  Man, that thing is kind of embarrassing to push around but it makes my chicken happy so onward we push!  I think we're way past embarrassing at this point in parenthood anyway.

Beep! Beep!  Have a nice weekend.

wind doesn't carry.

This chicken isn't afraid to wear pink.  He looked very handsome for a wedding rehearsal and dinner.  The boys went out of town for the wedding festivities on Friday and returned on Sunday.  You know how much I love weddings so I was disappointed I couldn't make it but I had a busy weekend myself.  Band rehearsal on Friday.  Stayed out dancing with my bandmates. Fell into an accidental nap on Saturday evening and had to rush around to get ready for our show.  The show was so fun and I can't wait to play next Friday.  Saw tons of old friends and made some new ones.

Sunday morning I woke up early, cleaned the house, put away music equipment, and started a new song inspired by the genius of Lana Del Rey.  Thank you friend who introduced me to the girl with the cool songs and dreamy hair.

I haven't been doing the mirror pics much lately.  I had one on this post but it just seems so dorky and vain and silly so I took it off.  AND put up this photo because it isn't ridiculous at all.

I want tea.  And 5 Snickers.  And a glass of wine.  Rain.  Inspiration.  More girl time.  A fantastic new piece of clothing.  A happy baby on a Monday morning.  More time for music.  Motivation.  To win the lottery.  To visit my brothers.  And for my foot to stop hurting.

a real wedding.

I think my hand is broken. I've got 2 new songs almost completely finished. The Baby is hurting my spirit this week with his bad behavior. My dad is taking my little brother to Paris in a couple of weeks. My dad didn't call me on my birthday. I minored in French in college. Had dinner with my best friend the other night and remembered how much I love and trust her. Baby starts swimming lessons next week, 3 times a week. Baby needs a nap RIGHT now.
Flew to Alabama for Husband's cousin's wedding. Baby's first "airpane" ride. Husband read magazines while I baby wrangled. Not sure I'll ever travel with both of them at the same time- EVER AGAIN! I'm not sure who whines more.

above: I took this picture of the beautiful bride, right before she walked down the aisle.

above: Baby's wedding outfit was cute but he really needed a belt. His pants fell down and his shirt came untucked every 10 seconds. He was so amped up during the ceremony that Husband and I had to chase him around in the church hallways and I missed my favorite part! The reception was in a gorgeous location and the food was delicious.

We visited this awesome place outside of town. There's a bar, a chapel, cabins, and hunting. The chapel is the most charming place I've ever seen. If we had something like that here in Oklahoma, I would definitely get married there. So darling.

Back to Oklahoma, laundry, the dog and cats, the internet. Back to my own fluffy, comfy bed with clean sheets and Baby is back in his own bed, sleeping through the night. I love to travel but I also love, love, love Oklahoma.

Real Housewives of Oklahoma.

I wrote a real letter to an old friend today. A real letter on stationary with a matching envelope and everything. I used to write letters all the time but I don't have many friends who live far away anymore. Or they never wrote back so I quit sending them stuff. Receiving personal mail makes me so happy and I wish it happened more often.

Lately I've been missing some old friends. Or maybe the way my friends treated me before I got married, bought a house and had a baby. I love my friends, don't get me wrong. Sitting at home all the time and not being invited to dinner or drinks or movies when I'm actually free to go almost anytime sucks though. I was seriously on the phone the other day for 45 minutes and only said "yeah" and "uh huh" and "i understand." Maybe it's not you, it's me. Maybe I'm just not as fun to hang out with as I think I am.

Bitch and complain, bitch and complain. That's why I like blogging- if you don't want to hear it, don't read it. Maybe I'm in a bad mood because A.) it looks sunny and beautiful outside but it's really cold so I don't want to go out or B.) we're out of Diet Coke and all I want in life right now is a Diet Coke and Baby Jack is napping so I am stuck at home for another hour.
Aww man. This Baby Jack on a baby four wheeler makes me feel much better. Diet Coke, I don't need you anymore.
This is David jumping on the bed when we all went to see Broken Social Scene. He was just so excited. I wish Husband would have jumped on the bed with him. That would have been a better picture.

If ANYBODY is free to hang out this evening, Husband is going to play basketball so I'm free to do something. Dinner (at a baby friendly place) or a glass of wine on my back porch while baby plays or something? Ok. Maybe that's why nobody likes to hang out with me anymore= because everything must be baby friendly. Well, Baby Jack is way more fun to hang out with than you anyway. He doesn't bitch and complain about anything and he lets me talk too.

Rattle & Roll

Today I'm feeling a bit under the weather so Baby and I are taking it easy.  Worked out, bathed the baby, watched Sesame Street, and took a few photos of Baby with my Fender Hot Rod Deluxe and his baby guitar.  I'm about to work on his birthday invitations but i'm having trouble deciding on exactly what I want.  If it were up to Baby, the party would have a wheat cracker and remote control theme.  A giant cake made out of crackers maybe.  His two favorite things.

Baby Jack with his baby guitar.  He prefers my Gretsch.

Baby guitars are good for baby rockstar naps.

Finally got him to lay down for naptime.  Whew.  Guess i'll start on those invitations...

Where the Wild Things Really Are

In Oklahoma, of course! The Baby seemed at home in his "Max" costume. Serious as ever. However, in the town we live in, football is quite serious. And it so happened the Sooners were playing on Halloween evening. So... our trick-or-treat night was on Friday instead of Saturday. Baby started feeling bad on Friday evening and by Saturday morning, he was full on sick. So no real Halloween for him. He cried and cuddled. Sunday we dressed him up and took some photos of him with his baby cousin in her giraffe costume. See below.

Husband came home one day and seemed surprised that I can actually sew. (i made Baby's costume) I've told him several times that I can but I guess he thought that meant hemming pants or something. Which is fine. If you've read this blog at all, then you know my husband has only known me for about a year and a half. And honestly, in that time, there is no reason i would sew. Or be creative at all. I was pregnant! And tired. And more pregnant and more tired. Anyway. I can sew!
I thought I could use the Baby's naptime to blog but I was grossly mistaken. His naptimes are few and far between these days and i'm now using them to run to the shower and partially dry my hair before he wakes up and wants Mommy. He is obsessed with Mommy. He wants Mommy to hold him when she's in the room and to watch him while he does things when she's not holding him. It's a lot harder than it sounds. I'm on my feet, holding a 26 pound baby ALL DAY LONG. My back hurts. My brain hurts. My soul hurts by the end of the day. I'm tired.
