big dreams.

This is the tart I made earlier in the week.
Jack ate 2 slices.
Maybe I put strawberries in it so I couldn't eat it.
Smart or obsessive?
Also made portobello mushroom fajitas and they were delicious and very healthy.

Anyone else looking forward to the release of Missoni for Target collection?
I love the blankets and scarves.
Must have.

I also love Kourtney Kardashian's hair and makeup.
Not fair.

Random post, I know.
Jack is watching Sesame Street so I'm wasting time until it's over.
What will we do today?
I would like to go make-up shopping but that's probably not practical.
Especially with a 2 year old.
I need a manicure.
Also not practical with a 2 year old.
Need a massage.
My girl doesn't work on Friday.
I guess what I need is a Special Lady Day.
(where your man takes you to do whatever you want to do all day without complaining?  shopping, make-up shopping, nail place, antique shopping, girl movie, whatever.   it's never actually happened in this household but i keep trying!)
Sesame Street is over.
Jack is dancing.
We're off to wander the town.

Watch this video and have a happy weekend.
This song has a serious Chris Isaak feel to it.

no. really. kick me out.

Jack and I went to see Grams this morning.
Jack and I went to lunch at Iguana with our beloved Hannah.
While waiting for our table, Jack yelled "KICK ME OUT!" over and over and over.
Jack threw beans and rice everywhere, proudly and with enthusiasm.
Jack kicked the table and shoved it into Hannah- over and over and over.
Jack yelled at a guy sitting near us, telling him that he was going to pinch him.
Jack told Hannah the guy behind us was going to pay for lunch.
Jack threw a tantrum and I recorded it on video and played it back for him.
He did not appreciate it.
Finally got out of the restaurant.  (everyone probably cheered.)
Jack found the one spot of mud on the ground and dug his fingers into it.
I picked him up and he spit on me.
Buckled him in his seat and he fell asleep in 5 minutes.
It's really hard sometimes but could be harder.

Oh.  There we go.
My favorite shirt, already covered in spit and queso, just tore.
There's good news too though.
BFF Dave called and we're going to have a drink this evening.
HURRAY!

You will be happy to know-  I think the gross water thing works.  I've been drinking it for 4 days now and I seem to be much less puffy.  Or maybe this is all in my mind.  No idea.  I'm a girl.  I'm delusional.

Jack is very serious about driving the grocery cart truck around homeland.  Man, that thing is kind of embarrassing to push around but it makes my chicken happy so onward we push!  I think we're way past embarrassing at this point in parenthood anyway.

Beep! Beep!  Have a nice weekend.

parties every night.

He said he was driving like Daddy and then answered his pretend phone while honking the horn.  He was a little tired to be in a restaurant so I brought him out to the truck to pretend drive.  Today we played, we watched a movie, we had dinner, we shared a little bit of cheesecake, and we played with trucks.  It's been a nice Sunday but I wish Husband were here to hang out with us.  He's umpiring a game but should be back soon.

Before the weekend started, I did my own nails.  This is the sort of thing that happens when I get bored.  I liked it!  They were pretty much ruined after my show on Friday night but it was super easy to do so I'll be doing some experimenting.

Remember the gold shorts?  They finally made an appearance this weekend.  I was going to wear them to the show but decided to wear a dress instead.

I went Forever 21 (forever 30?) shopping and couldn't decide if I liked this top or not so I didn't get it.  Still undecided so that probably means I made the right decision.  (Until fall rolls around and I remember that I didn't buy this and need it.)

I definitely didn't buy this electric yellow cheetah print tank top.  I thought-  if I were Jack, would I be embarrassed of my mom?  Yes.  Probably.  So I put it back.  The sacrifices we make...

I was on a hunt in my closet to find something to wear to my show when I found this dress.  I bought it at Lucca months ago to wear to some sort of event but never wore it.  How did I forget about this fantastic dress?  No, you can't wear a bra with it and yes, it shows a little side boob.  So what.

What a great turn out we had!  We played some new songs too.  It just feels so good to play.  We're going to be featured in another magazine-  not sure when but you'll hear about it on here at some point.  We're getting new merch, our album will finally be on itunes, and we'll be playing out of state a lot more this fall.  Lots to look forward to.

Ryan Lawson took this photo of us.

The birthday party we hosted turned out great.  Mostly people I didn't know but everyone was super nice and respectful of our home.  We didn't have much to clean up at the end of the night.  The food was a big hit and the margarita machine was pretty cool.  I mostly drank cups and cups of water all weekend long so I may open that bottle of champagne that was left here.  *Kelli, I'll get you back, girl!  Mama needs a little Sunday drink to go with new episodes of Keeping Up with the Kardashians and Entourage.  Did you know that I eat a little popcorn every single night?  Champagne is a nice little treat to add to my treat.  *popcorn is not TAM approved but she'll have to deal with it!

Oh yeah, I ended up wearing the gold shorts, a t-shirt and black velvet heels to the party.  Because you care so much about what I wear in my own house and stuff.  I mean, you know...

Husband has liked falling asleep outside lately.  This was after everyone left the party.  It took me a while to wake him.  One time I left him out there because I could not, for the life of me, get him to come to bed!  Pretty funny.

Jack doesn't have school all week so we'll be playing all day, every day!  I'm sure I'll have a ton of cute photos of him to post soon.  Have a lovely week.

away we sail.

and i don't know where. you and me, baby, we're goin there.
This is my favorite Jack outfit. I think. I don't know- he's dressed like a little rockabilly baby today and it's pretty awesome and adorable. There will be photos to share later.

This is my lunch lately. These things are tasty!
I had a giftcard to Sephora! I bought these things that I love. Thanks, Sandy.

Dress shopping for a wedding. I bought the gray one but I want the pink one now too.

40% off everything at the Gap last week! I love those sales. I found a really cool shirt for $4.80. And a few other things, of course.

I taught him how to plug in my stage tuner. He really, really wanted to plug his guitar in.
We went to see Dave and Darcy and Lydia this week. Jack was being jealous and kicking things and climbing on furniture so we had to leave. I didn't want to scare them!
We're off to have a great weekend. I have a private party to play tomorrow night on a rooftop downtown. We're going to cruise the Plaza District tonight and I have a workout to get through this morning so I'd better go.

fun & games.

Late night online browsing. Things I like. Let's win the lottery. Let's not have an asthma attack. Let's spy on people online. Let's watch Friday Night Lights on Netflix. Let's have a party. Let's make this wind die down. Let's make a new workout playlist. Let's work out. Let's make an effort to be better and happier people. Let's book the Vegas trip. Let's look forward to the future. Let's continue planning my pretend wedding. Let's have another green tea. Let's be more thankful everyday for the things and opportunities we have and for the people in our lives. Let's raise $1,500 for a new OJ!G album. Let's teach the Baby how to spell his name. Let's find time to spend with each other. Let's break out the box of summer clothes from the garage. Let's plant flowers in the back yard. Let's quit with this let's crap. It's annoying, I know.

Zebra Cowhide Rug Remember the bedroom I wanted a couple of posts ago? In THIS post. Rug found! (io-metro.com) The zebra print is a little obnoxious on a cowhide rug but I like it. I also love the plain old black and white or brown and white cowhide rugs. (I bet my Husband and my Momma hate this.)

Pavilion Platform Bed (charlesprogers.com)

Annie Leibovitz At Work The only book of hers that I do not have. She talks about the way and reasoning behind how she shoots. Why don't I own this already? (amazon.com)

Chanel Rose Insolent (chanel.com)

Robert Rodriguez V-Neck Open Back Black Silk Blouse I would like it in the size 4, please. You must look at the link and check out the back of this shirt. IneeditsoBAD! (bluefly.com)

Stella Chair- Chipper Black I've sat in this chair many times at IO Metro in Edmond. I've thought about buying it many times. It would look great in my living room. It needs a pink pillow. (i0-metro.com)

CB2 Pulley Pendant Lamp I also want this pendant lamp for my dining room to replace the ugly 1970's thing. I could install it myself like I did with the kitchen light. A certain man of the house couldn't do it and I'm pretty darn handy at stuff like that. I like installing and taking things apart, painting walls and getting dirty- I get a nice piece of self satisfaction out of it. (cb2.com)Marc by Marc Jacobs Bianca Clutch This is just self-explanatory. From the photo above, you'd think this clutch were small but it's a trickster! It's big. And it's great. And it would look so good in my loving arms. (zappos.com)

Marc by Marc Jacobs Classic Q Baby Aidan I love this bag because it's big and casual and a great neutral color. Think of all the places I could carry this bag, and how many diapers and toddler snacks and guitar strings and tuners I could fit in it. (zappos.com)

Kate Spade New York Gold Coast Bright Robin Ok, so it may not be practical to spend $275 dollars on a little hot pink bag but I swear I will carry it often. Pink is my favorite color, you know that. And you know that I'm not always practical. (zappos.com)

Kate Spade New York Lily Ash bag This is much more practical and just as beautiful. And I think it's on sale- can't argue with that. (zappos.com)

They grow up so fast

Baby went to his 12 month wellness check-up last Thursday. He was weighed and measured. He rounded out to be bigger than about 97% of babies his age and more handsome than 100% of babies his age. The weather started to get bad later that day so we went to the store and stocked up on food and diet coke. It snowed and it iced. Today it is slushy. We've watched movies and eaten lots of food and had a little party. Saw Whip It, which turned out to be really good. Saw When In Rome (don't ask) and it was really bad.

Now we're watching the Grammys. I went to the Grammys with my brother when I was 21. He knew some of the nominees. 2 years ago, the Grammys were on at The Mont where I went to have a drink with a couple of my old bandmates, one of which was my exboyfriend. Exboyfriend brought his friend along and we watched Alicia Keys perform No One. The Friend turned out to be Future Husband who turned out to be Husband. I was so not interested in him at the time. He came to a couple of my shows and stalked me on myspace. I finally agreed to go on a date with him in mid March. I even tried to cancel that a couple of times. He picked me up and we hung out at Isis and then Edna's. We were supposed to go to dinner but I couldn't meet up that early. Some people say they just knew on the first date and I guess I was one of those people.

Baby weighed 27lbs and 14oz.
Photobucket
He tried to play with the baby in the mirror but he kept bumping him in the forhead.

Photobucket
How many people does it take to measure a baby?

Photobucket
He got a shot. He didn't cry very long though. He's a tough baby.

Photobucket
He's so pissed we tricked him into getting that shot.

Photobucket
Went to Atwood's and bought a new dog bed for Lucy and hot cinnamon suckers. I love them and apparently so does Baby.

Photobucket
(don't worry, Mom. we just let him taste it for a second, didn't leave him to chew on the sucker.)

Photobucket
Yesterday we walked around Target and then went to O'Connell's on campus corner to share some cheese fries and a happy hour beer. Baby was very loud. It's getting harder and harder to take him out to a restaurant.
Photobucket
Our snowy house.

Photobucket
The night Husband built a big fire and we drank wine and watched a movie. Baby was asleep.

Photobucket
Saturday night we had some friends over to our house to hang out after Jack went to bed. The girls played pool and the boys played dominos. Bandmate brought over one of our songs. You can hear it here.

Baby found a new toy called Lucy.

I have more stuff to write about but it's hard trying to write anything when I have people to judge on the Grammys.
