Spring came for the weekend.

Somebody got a little baby haircut last week.  It started to look like a little mullet so something had to be done.  We had a few days of nice weather so there was no choice but to take Baby to the Duck Pond and for a few walks around the block.  He had a very good time.  In these photos, he's wearing one of my favorite flannel shirts and a pair of baby Wrangler jeans.  The shirt is almost too small so I thought we could get one more wear in before it's a belly shirt.  He's wearing his blue and silver Nike shoes as those are one of two pair of shoes that fit him.  I'm looking for a simple pair of white canvas slip-ons, so if you see any, let me know where!
The other day, Baby and I strolled into The Gap and picked up these plain black pants for $5.99!  Sold!  What a deal.  Even though they did not pick Baby to be a Baby Gap baby...  seriously, the babies they picked are cute but this baby is way cuter.  Am I right?  They probably didn't want to upset the other babies is what I'm thinking.  That's ok, he'll go on impressing everyone in the line at the store.  What a little Grocery Store Romeo he is.
Friday, Husband's sisters stopped by with Baby's baby cousin.  He's very unsure when Husband or I hold her.  He's also very sweet and lays his head on her head to snuggle.  He even tries to share his pacifier with her.
Baby's Aunt Natalie gave him a lawn mower so he can be just like his lawn obsessed dad.  (although i do believe a certain wife/mommy raking up huge piles of leaves before winter...  ahem.)
This weekend I also scored 2 pair of shoes and 2 bags.  A Prada and a Jimmy Choo to keep Marc and his friends in good company in my closet.  And just to make you even more jealous, I also had a wonderful Aveda hot stone massage at the Ihloff Salon.  A manicure and cookout were also on my list of things-to-do on Saturday.  Later that night, we met our friends at my brother's one man band show.
Sunday was very lazy.  Nice and relaxing.  And then I had to pinch a nerve in my back/neck area.  Can't pick up Baby.  Can't look to the right.  Can't look down.  Hopefully this will go away soon, especially since I have no choice but to carry a 30 pound baby around tomorrow.  Which reminds me=  tomorrow is my brother's 30th birthday!  Man, he's old.  (not really, i'm not that far behind him myself.  hah.)  And speaking of brothers.  My little brother will be flying into Oklahoma on Friday with his girlfriend.  Can't wait to see them.  This will be a good week.

Baby Chuck Bass

Do you watch Gossip Girl?  I love that show.  And I love that my husband kind of looks like Ed Westwick.  Very hot.  We exchanged some stuff at target (Husband got the wrong baby sizes) and found this super cool outfit.  It came with a pink button down, a black and white gingham tie, a pair of khaki pants,  and a navy blazer.  I want to save it for Easter or something like that but I  couldn't resist trying the shirt and tie on him.  When he first saw himself in the mirror, he was very proud of himself!  He smiled and stared at his clothes.  Staring at the mirror already...  It's going to be scary when we have a baby girl.

He got a little OU recliner for his birthday from his grandparents, complete with sippy cup holder.  It really reclines too!  He loves it.  It's so funny!  He felt very grown up yesterday.

What else is going on.  Hmm.  Well, I finished recording the last of my vocals for the album.  I entered us in the open band casting for the Norman Music Festival.  Maybe we'll get in, who knows...  never hurts to try, right?  My old band was supposed to play it last year but we had to cancel at the last minute and let my brother's one man band take our spot.  It was a fun day, though our friends were getting married that afternoon so we had to skip out early and run back late.  Check out the Norman Music Festival here.

Hopefully we'll be playing soon.  That's all I want to do.  That's all I did before I had Baby and now that it's been about a year and nine months since I was in a band full-time, I'm missing it more than anything.  I tried to trick myself into thinking I could be pregnant and play and have a new baby and play but it's pretty impossible unless you're super woman, which I am not.  But I'm ready now.  Sometime this summer we're going to do a show with a band called Penny Hill.  Listen to them here.

The snow is finally melting, thank God.  I hear it's supposed to be crappy weather toward the end of the week.  I hope the sun comes out and proves all of this bullshit wrong.  Saturday, Husband and I are headed to Dallas to see a Justin Townes Earle show.  If you haven't listened to him, you should.  And if you haven't checked out the last issue of GQ, you should.  He's in there.

Have a lovely week.

The Cutest Baby in the World.

That baby of mine sure knows how to have fun.  Every night, the Husband and I play with him on the floor and he has so much fun that he wears himself out and he's ready for bed.  He loves his baby Harley.  He's finally figured out how to push the peddle with his foot to take off.  (it doesn't go fast)  "Vrrrroom!"

This is the new shirt we picked up at Target.  He was going to wear it on his birthday but I couldn't resist putting it on him with his gray skinny baby jeans.  He peed on the jeans and so we switched them out for comfy Gap sweat pants.  For his birthday outfit, I picked up a really cool and very  cute bright blue and white button up shirt.  Also from Target.

Tired out!  Baby Jack sat with Husband and watched TV for a little bit while I fixed his cereal and bottle.  He didn't squirm or grab at the remotes-  he just sat quietly, like a mature little boy.  Eventually he became sleepy.

Looking at these pictures makes me miss hardwood floors.  They just look so much nicer!  I haven't lived in a house with carpet in over 10 years.  The carpet is really appropriate for baby play though.  He rolls around and falls down on it and doesn't get hurt!  Someday when Baby and his baby sister (no, she's not here yet and no i'm not preggers again) are bigger and we have the money, I really, really want wood floors.  Or that house down the street that looks just like ours (flat roof) only bigger!  I would take that instead of the floors.

So I am in possession of some almost finished Bulletproof Tiger songs.  If you would like to hear them and give me feedback, please email me at festivalcityfilms@hotmail.com and i'll email you a song or two.  I'd like to hear what other people have to say- good or bad.

Lately I just haven't been my usual self.  I'm tired for no reason, I throw up a lot for no reason, I'm moody, have headaches.  (No, i'm absolutely not pregnant!)  I'm pretty sure I'm either sick and dying or just stressing.  I wish I had more time to work on things i love.  Music being the biggest thing with photography and art following.  It's so frustrating!  Oh yeah!  Also, for the past few weeks i've been having lucid dreams.  Lots of them.  It makes my brain so tired by the time i wake up.  Sometimes they are positive dreams where I can control everything and sometimes they are bad dreams where I know I'm dreaming and can't wake myself up.  I had a dream this morning that Husband and I were getting married in 1 day and I didn't have anything planned or a dress or anything.  It's a reoccurring dream i've had about different occasions since i was a child.  Sometimes it's halloween and I'm searching for a costume?  Prom and I'm searching in some crappy store for a dress?  It's kind of funny.  Wonder what it means.

Also, I think it would do me good to spend a nice evening with Husband.  When we go to dinner, one of us doesn't get to eat because we have to entertain a one year old and make sure the salsa and sugar packets are out of his reach.   We really want to see a movie but it's impossible to find someone who will babysit him in norman long enough for us to go see one.  When we do go out, friends are usually along for the ride, which is also fun, but it would be nice to hang out one on one.

This post is really random, I know.  My brain is very unfocused today.  Going to bathe baby and we're going to get out of this house.  Baby always makes me feel better about everything.  Especially when he gives me baby kisses.

Oh my darlin'

Hearing other people's relationship problems makes me very thankful for my Husband. So, thank you, darling Husband. Went to see Sherlock Holmes today. It was good. Sherlock is super hot but not as hot as Husband.

Baby's first birthday is in less than a month! We have so many people to invite that we have to rent a place to have it. Working on getting a guitar cake from my friend, Christie England, at Sugar custom cake shop. http://www.oksugar.com/ Her cakes are awesome and delicious! Baby got so many toys at Christmas that we're going to ask people not to bring any. He could use more books but that's about it. What do you get the boy who has everything anyway? Tomorrow I will find invitations.

Green tea to go. I painted the kitchen green. Got new orange cookware that matches my orange Le Creuset stuff.
It's getting late and Baby is crying in his crib. He's trying so hard to fight going to bed. He quit eating vegetables this week. He's been waking up in the middle of the night, not wanting to go back to sleep. Sigh. He must be going through some phase. Hopefully it doesn't last years.

Baby Gap Baby

The Baby went on a little fall/winter clothing shopping spree yesterday in search of a new baby coat. On our way in to The Gap, I saw a poster for a GapKids casting call online. I entered these photos. I checked out his baby competition and i'm not trying to be mean but he's got this one in the bag. He can't help it if he's exceptionally cuter than all of the other babies. I know, it's not fair to them, but- hey babies! That's life. When I get the link to his pic for voting, i'll be posting it on here so you can vote for your favorite rock'n'roll baby.
He walked away with a new baby motorcycle jacket, which i'm sure you'll be seeing soon, and several shirts and a pair of jeans courtesy of his grandparents. Everything he's wearing in the photo is from The Gap- except his socks (Gymboree) and his diaper (Huggies size 4.) He also scored some stuff from Old Navy and Babies'R'Us. What a lucky little boy he is.
This week is halloween costume week. Have to go to the fabric store and bust out the sewing machine for Baby's costume. I'll let you know how that's going later.
Got a flu shot yesterday and now have a pounding headache so i'll leave you here. I need to drink some wine before we (Bulletproof Tiger) start recording session number 2 tonight.
